<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an extremely sharp recording image with high color density while markedly improving the storage stability and anti-wear property of the recording image, in an image receiving sheet for thermal transfer recording for receiving a transfer image from a color transfer sheet, by containing a butyral resin in the image receiving layer of the image receiving sheet. CONSTITUTION:The butyral resin contained in an image receiving layer is generally prepared by reacting polyvinyl alcohol with butyraldehyde and obtained in a form of a copolymer consisting of vinyl butyral and vinyl alcohol by appropriately regulating the substitution degree thereof. In this case, it is pref. to regulate a butyration degree to 50mol% or more and, especially, the butyral resin with a butyration degree of 55-75mol% is excellent in the dyeability of a dye and, as a result, forms the image receiving layer excellent in the storage stability of a recording image and, therefore, used most pref. The butyral resin is generally dissolved in a proper org. solvent such as benzene, toluene, xylene, ethyl acetate, acetone or methyl ethyl ketone and regulated to proper concn. and viscosity corresponding to the kind of a coater head before applied to base paper and dried.</p> |
