PURPOSE:To lower the refractive index of the titled recording medium itself while enhancing an S/N ratio, in the optical recording medium wherein a recording layer containing a dye and a conjugate of a color cation and a quencher anion is provided on a resin substrate, by improving the primer layer interposed between the substrate and the recording layer. CONSTITUTION:The recording layer of an optical recording medium contains a dye and a conjugate of a color cation and a quencher anion. At least one of the coloring matter and the color cation is an indolenin type cyanine dye or a cation thereof. In this case, the dye and the color cation are together pref. the indolenin type cyanine dye or the cation thereof. By this constitution, writing sensitivity and reflectivity are increased and a reading S/N ratio is enhanced. As the indolenin type cyanine dye, there is no special limit and various ones can be used. |
