摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fringe scanning position compensation structure capable of monitoring deviations of phases (positions of light and dark portions) of interference fringes due to changes of external environments such as temperature and humidity and to physical stress applied to a fiber transmission path when the orientation of an endoscope is changed, and also capable of fixing the interference fringe to a desired position.SOLUTION: In an endoscope which comprises a laser source 11, a polarization plane holding fiber 12 for transmitting light from the light source, and projection interference fringe forming means 13 which uses the light transmitted through the polarization plane holding fiber from the laser source to form interference fringes, wherein the formed interference fringes are projected onto an object surface. The fringe scanning position compensation structure comprises: optical multiplexing and demultiplexing means 15 interposed between the laser source and the polarization plane holding fiber; and return light information detection means (16, 17) for detecting the information on the light which is emitted from the laser source, is incident into the polarization plane holding fiber, reflected off a predetermined plane on an optical path up to an incident plane of the projection interference fringe forming means, and routed through the optical multiplexing and demultiplexing means as return light.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
