PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of image quality when an area in a medium corresponding to pixels to which a defective nozzle is to discharge a liquid is complemented by a liquid discharged from a complementary nozzle.SOLUTION: A printer 11 includes a discharge head 30 which can discharge ink to a paper P, and a print control part which controls printing operation of the discharge head 30. The discharge head 30 scans with respect to a predetermined raster line along a scanning direction X a plurality of times, and discharges ink to the paper P. Then, the print control part sets a first complementary nozzle use rate higher than a nozzle use rate in a normal condition as a nozzle use rate of the complementary nozzle that is used instead of a defective nozzle which is to discharge ink to the pixel on the paper P when the defective nozzle is detected, and sets a second complementary nozzle use rate lower than the first complementary nozzle use rate as a nozzle use rate of an auxiliary complementary nozzle in a periphery of the complementary nozzle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
