PURPOSE:To enable a paper bail with rollers to be easily opened and closed and a paper to be easily set, by a construction wherein a paper bail with rollers is opened and closed by turning a bail release lever through a driving arm and a link. CONSTITUTION:The bail release lever 10 is turnably supported through a shaft on a frame of a printer 1, the driving arm 13 with a roller 15 rotatably supported on an end thereof is fixed coaxially with the lever 10, and the link 27 provided at one end thereof with a groove 28 for engaging with the roller 15 to restrict the position of the lever 10 and at the other end thereof with a slot 27 for engagement with a bail arm 8 is turnably supported on the frame through a shaft. Further, a release arm 18 for holding the position of the lever 10 is provided. When the lever 10 is turned, the bail arm 8 is turned through the driving arm 13 and the link 27, whereby the paper bail with rollers 7 is pressed against or separated from a platen 5. |
