A process for producing nitrilotriacetonitrile from an ammonia derivative, formaldehyde, and hydrogen cyanide, in which hydrogen cyanide is scrubbed from a gas stream containing hydrogen cyanide with a dilute solution of a mineral acid, which is used directly in the nitrilotriacetonitrile production without the purification process normally used to produce hydrogen cyanide. |
