This device for wringing out chammy leather for washing motor vehicles is of the type comprising two cylindrical rollers 3, 4 which are pressed tangentially against one another and are mounted pivotably on axles 5, 6 coinciding with their axis of rotation and which are carried by the lateral branches 7a, 7b connected to one another by means of the central branch 7c of a stirrup 7 and one 5 of which is extended by a crank handle 8 for simultaneously driving the two rollers 3 and 4 in rotation. The central branch 7c of the stirrup 7 is equipped with two pairs of rods 9a, 9b; 11a, 11b directed substantially perpendicularly to the mid-plane of the stirrup 7 on the same side of this plane, the rods of the same pair 9a-9b and 11a-11b being arranged very near to one another, so as to form a gripper engagable on the upper edge of a rising and falling window 12 of a motor vehicle. <IMAGE>
