PURPOSE:To permit a fixed supply of printing to be performed all the time by moving an ink ribbon set between a printing head and a printing paper while keeping its relative speed with the rocking speed of the head constant. CONSTITUTION:In a shuttle type wire-dot line printer to make printing while moving a printing head 1 with many printing pins and printing hammers arranged in a rocking manner in the direction B-B' of crossing the feeding direction A of printing papers 3, an ink ribbon 4 set between a printing head 1 and a paper 3 is moved while keeping its relative speed with the rocking speed of the head 1 constant. In this case, motors 8 and 9 provided to the shafts of left- and right-handed ribbon supply reel and ribbon-winding reel are turned in a rocking manner synchronously with the head 1. However, the feeding speed C to the left of the ribbon 4 is made smaller than the head 1 but the feeding speed to the left is made greater. The relative speeds of both can thus be made constant all the time. |
