Gauge device in a liquid tank, especially a fuel tank 1 equipping a motor vehicle, comprising a gauge 2, 8 introduced into the tank 1 via an upper opening 6 of the upper wall 7 of the latter and held pressed against the bottom 3 of the tank 1 by an elastic means 4 bearing at the top on a stopper 5 plugging the opening 6, characterised in that the stopper 5 has an annular groove 14 in which there is housed a seal 15 which radially bears over the entire perimeter of the collar 9 of the wall 7 of the tank delimiting the opening 6, and this stopper 5 comprises at its periphery elastic tabs 16 which extend downwards and are each equipped at their lower end with a fastening means 17 held at the top bearing on a relief 18 associated with the collar 9 by the elastic means 4. <IMAGE>
