Frame-shaped auxiliary diaphragm for attachment on the radiation diaphragm of an X-ray tube having a light-beam localiser for fading out or in subareas of the beam cross-sectional area respectively uncovered by the radiation diaphragm by means of a diaphragm body made from material which absorbs X-rays and light rays and is mounted on a strip-shaped carrier which is made from a material that transmits X-rays and light rays, and whose ends, which serve a retaining purpose, are constructed as magnetic armatures extending over the stroke of longitudinal movement of said carrier and at least two mutually opposite frame strips are constructed as permanent magnetic poles extending over the stroke of transverse movement of the carrier, or vice versa the permanent magnetic poles are assigned in a corresponding arrangement to the carrier and the magnetic armatures are assigned to the strips of the frame.
