PURPOSE:To enhance recording speed in thermal transfer recording, by providing a heat-fusible ink layer comprising a powder of a highly heat-conductive ceramic on a base layer. CONSTITUTION:The base layer 5 consists of a plastic film such as a polyester film, and the heat-fusible ink layer 4 is provided thereon. The ink layer 4 comprises a heat-fusible ink layer 3 comprising a dye or a pigement as a coloring agent and, optionally, a softener such as an oil together with a binder such as carnauba wax infiltrated in a microporous layer formed of a porous body forming resin such as a vinyl resin (e.g., polyvinyl chloride or vinylidene coloride copolymer), an acrylic resin (e.g., polyacrylic acid ester), a fibrous resin (e.g., ethyl cellulose) or other resin (e.g., polystyrene), with a powder 1 of a highly heat-conductive ceramic such as AlN and SiC (having thermal conductivities at room temperature of about 170Wm<-1>K<-1> and about 270Wm<-1> K<-1>, respectively) being incorporated in the ink layer 3. |
