PURPOSE:To count the total quantity of copies by the discharging of copy sheets from a copying machine body at a request for sorter use and also to count the total quantity of copies even by the discharging of copy sheets from a sorter by providing a signal selecting means which selects and supplies a copy sheet discharge signal from the copying machine body and a copy sheet discharge signal from the sorter. CONSTITUTION:A total counter 11 is supplied with the copy sheet discharge signal P1 from the copy sheet discharge sensor 13 of the copying machine body 1 or the copy sheet discharge signal P2 from the copy sheet discharge sensor 21 of the sorter 2 selectively as a count input through the signal selecting means 12, and counts up the quantity of copies by one every time the signal is supplied. The signal selecting means 12 supplies the signals P1 or P2 to the total counter 11 selectively according to selecting operation performed at a request as to whether the sorter 2 is coupled or not, whether the sorter 2 is used or not, or which of the copying machine body 1 and sorter 2 is selected as an object of copy sheet counting, thereby putting the total counter in counting operation. |
