A slatted blind for external mounting consists of lateral guide rails (7) for the slats (5), which rails are to be arranged in a fixed manner on the building, and of an upper head strip (3) which contains the lifting mechanism and is likewise to be arranged in a fixed manner on the building. To ease mounting and maintenance and repair work, the guide rails (7) are, according to the invention, designed as supports of the head strip (3) and combined with the head strip (3) as a downwardly open, self-supporting U-frame (8), the U-frame being provided only in the region of the guide rails (7) with fastening means (9) for arrangement on the building side, i.e. for arrangement on the easily accessible window jamb or on the window frame. <IMAGE>
