Method and apparatus for rolling hot strip

A description is given of a method and an apparatus for removing profile errors from slabs on hot-strip roll trains. Asymmetries in the cross-section of the slab are determined by measurement and comparison of the measured values. If there are asymmetries, a stand located ahead of the rolling train is set in such a way, by means of known devices, to alter the rolling gap that the asymmetry is rolled out in such a way that a small portion of the original cross-section of the slab runs through the roll stand unaltered. <IMAGE>
