The invention relates to a terrestrial globe aiming to represent the planet Earth such as it is in space at a given moment of the year (end of September) and to show its continuous rotation movement, by virtue of an illumination and an animation mechanism. This terrestrial globe is constituted by a plinth 1 surmounted by two superimposed globes equipped with ventilation orifices one of which, outer and in two vertical parts, comprises an opaque black left half-sphere 2/1, a right half-sphere with a painted representation of clouds 2/2 and the other, inner, comprises a representation in relief and in colour, of the earth's crust 3. The illumination and animation mechanism is composed of a motor 4, of its electrical cable 4 bis, of a main gear 5, of a secondary gear 6, of a cylinder surmounting the secondary gear 7, topped with a cup 8 whose edges are turned up, with a central orifice, locking catches on its upper face and a groove under its lower face, of a second cylinder inside the cylinder 7, 9, of the electrical wire for the lighting 10, of an electric bulb 11, of a switch for the illumination and of a switch for the animation, with a junction for the electrical wires and single plug 12, with a gearing under the cup 13, of fixing stems with a yoke 14 and of a gearing on two opposite sides of the fixing stems 15.
