PURPOSE:To make possible the development and transfer faithful to a latent image by incorporating a binder resin, coloring agent and picolic acid substituent into a titled toner. CONSTITUTION:This toner contains at least the binder resin, coloring agent and the metallic complex of picolic acid or substd. picolic acid having at least >=1 substituents. The metallic complex is the metallic complex of Cr, Co, Fe, Mg, Cd, Pt or Ag. The metallic complex is stable with heat and time, has lower hygroscopicity and is a good-quality electric charge controlling agent to yield a developer having excellent electrophotographic characteristics when incorporated into the developer.
