PURPOSE:To enhance electric power resistance and enable to record gradations through control of impressed electric power, by providing a heating resistor with one or more windows. CONSTITUTION:Where a thermal head is constructed by using the heating resistors 2, the resistance of each of the heating resistor 2 can be set to be higher at a central part than that at peripheral parts by providing the windows 5, so that a temperature rise in the vicinity of an electrode 3 on the driving circuit side and a common electrode 4 can be markedly reduced as compared with that at a central part. Therefore, it is possible to prevent thermal breakage of resistor parts near the electrodes 3, 4 which are not brought into contact with an external object such as a platen and from which heat can not be released easily. Accordingly, since the temperature distribution in the heating resistor is improved by providing the resistor with the windows, a thermal head having high voltage resistance and capable of recording gradations can be obtained. |
