PURPOSE:To form a high strength FRP gear with excellent productivity and mass-productivity, by punching a prepreglike sheet prepared from a cloth or arranged longer fibers impregnated with a resin raw liquid to prepare small pieces, and molding the pieces integrally in a mold without the direction being deviated. CONSTITUTION:As a reinforcing material use is made of carbon fiber, glass fiber, cotton yarn, nylon fiber, tetoron fiber or the like in the form of unidirectionally arranged filament, and as a resin use is made of a polyester resin, an epoxy resin, a phenolic resin, a diarylphthalate resin, a melamine resin, etc. A reinforcing material is impregnated with a resin raw liquid to produce a prepreglike sheet, the prepreglike sheet is punched into small pieces having the shape of a gear, and are superposed to a thickness corresponding to the thickness of the intended gear in such a manner that the directions of the fibers are not limited to a certain direction, preferably the fibers of the adjacent pieces have larger angles with each other, and the small pieces are placed in a mold for the gear followed by heating and pressing.
