PURPOSE:To enhance line feeding accuracy for the first line, by a method wherein a paper is fed to a predetermined position by a platen, is returned to a predetermined position, and is then fed forward by a predetermined amount, thereby completing an automatic paper-supplying operation. CONSTITUTION:With a motor 3 being started, a paper-supplying roller 2 is rotated to feed the paper 1. When an end part of the paper 1 is passed through a switch 5, the switch 5 is turned ON, and when the end part of the paper 1 is brought to a position (a) to make contact with the platen 4, the motor 3 is stopped. Next, a motor 6 is driven to rotate the platen 4, thereby feeding the paper 1 forward to a position (b) at which a paper end sensor 8 detects the end part of the paper 1 and stops the motor 6. Then, the motor 6 is driven to feed the paper 3 backward by a predetermined amount, and after the end of the paper is detected by the sensor 8 [the end is brought to position (c)], the motor 6 is stopped. Subsequently, the motor 6 is driven to rotate forward, thereby feeding the paper 1 by a predetermined amount, the motor 6 is stopped, thereby feeding the paper to a position (d), resulting in that backlash in the paper-feeding system is eliminated. |
