The invention proposes a device which is implanted in the body of a patient if he/she is at risk of a sudden heart attack (e.g. infarction). The intention is that a heart attack will be treated within seconds at any time, that is to say, even in the absence of a doctor, by the patient himself/herself or by an automatic mechanism independently of the patient. The flat device is implanted on a rib under the axilla in such a way that it does not trouble the patient, on the one hand, and a mechanism which releases the medicament into the venous blood is implanted on a pericardial vein, on the other hand. If there is a risk of a heart attack, for example, the medicament is capable of dissolving a blood clot which has become lodged in the narrowing of the myocardial vessels, and can thus eliminate the risk within a very short time. Medicament supply can be triggered by the patient himself/herself or independently of him/her by an electronic system which responds to a significant change in blood pressure or to irregularities in the heart rate. The device can also be employed in other sudden disorders which necessitate immediate treatment and supply of a medicament.
