An electrohydraulic control device (10) is proposed in which two reciprocating drives (35, 39) uncoupled from one another act on a control spool (13) in such a way that, in a safety situation, the control spool (13) reaches a safety position (68) from the positions (63, 64, 65) allocated to a normal function without passing through intermediate positions. The control spool (13) has control grooves (24, 25, 27, 28) lying in a first plane (29) running through its longitudinal spool and fixed control ports (21, 22) which form first control windows (66) allocated to the normal function, whereas longitudinal grooves (31, 32) lie in a second plane (33) rotated relative to the first plane (29), which longitudinal grooves (31, 32) are allocated to the second control windows (67) for the safety function. The mechanism (38) converts the stroke movement of the releasing solenoid (39) into a rotary movement at the control spool (13) so that the second control windows (67) come into effect. Undesirable regulating movements caused by intermediate positions are therefore avoided when approaching the safety position (68). <IMAGE>
