PURPOSE:To omit updating arithmetic for a divisor and to speed up arithmetic by calculating the irreducible necessary number of times of the updating arithmetic in consideration of the data word length of the mantissa part of the divisor or dividend and arithmetic precision. CONSTITUTION:The exponent part of the divisor B0 is subtracted from the exponent part of the dividend A0 to calculate an update value A0', and an update part B0' is obtained by resetting only the exponent part of the divisor B0. Then, 1-B0 is denoted as X0 and A0'.X0+A0' is denoted as A1. Further, (X0)<2> is calculated to obtain X1 and A1.X1+A1 is calculated to obtain A2. Then, (X1)<2> is calculated to obtain X2. This arithmetic is repeated by (m) times to obtain Am as a quotient. |
