PURPOSE:To make the content of carbon monoxide in exhaust gas in a sintering furnace practically none, to increase the heat recovery rate, and to activate a catalyst, by coating a carbon monoxide oxidizer on a grate bar, or by assembling it in the grate bar. CONSTITUTION:One method, for example, is to coat a catalyst 3 on the surface of a grate bar 2. An oxidizing catalyst 3 is a carbon monoxide oxidizer such as Pt-alumina, Pt-Ni, or Pt-V2O5, and the one enables to be coated or pelletized one is used for this purpose. The oxidizer oxidizes carbon monoxide in exhaust gas at the feeder end of ore of a sintering furnace, producing exothermic heat to heighten the temperature in the exhaust gas. While deteriorated catalyst can be activated again in high temperature at the discharge end of ore of a sintering furnace. In such a manner, oxidizing process of exhaust gas and reactivation process of catalyst can be performed at the same time while grate bars are moving in the sintering furnace. |
