CHARGE THROTTLING DEVICE FOR DIESEL ENGINE WITH SUPERCHARGER

PURPOSE:To control the occurrence of pale smoke at low speed running by throttling a charge path at low speed running to generate internal exhaust gas recirculation, and providing a charge throttle valve to enlarge its opening at middle and high speed running downstream from a supercharger. CONSTITUTION:A charge connecting pipe 4 to connect a supercharger 2 with a charge cooler 5 is provided with a charge throttle valve 11. The charge throttle valve 11 is actuated only at the low speed running to throttle charge quantity and generate internal exhaust gas recirculation. Consequently, the internal exhaust gas recirculation causes exhaust gas including unburned gas to remain in a combustion chamber 17 and charge path 3, and then the above exhaust gas is burned during the following cycle. Thus the structure of Diesel engine becomes simple, and pale smoke occurring at the low speed running can be reduced.
