PURPOSE:To decrease thermal expansion and shrinkage, to improve a thermal fatigue resistant characteristic and to extend a life by using an Fe-Ni alloy having a specific coefft. of thermal expansion to a belt to be used for a continuous casting machine. CONSTITUTION:The Fe-Ni alloy is used as the material for the belt. The alloy consisting of the comps. having <=5X10<-6>/ deg.C coefft. of thermal expansion (ordinary temp. -300 deg.C) is selected for such alloy. For example, the alloy consisting of 30-43% Ni, <=0.5% Co and the balance substantially Fe is used. The belt consisting of such alloy has the low coefft. of thermal expansion and the smaller degree of expansion and shrinkage by the repetition of heating-cooling during continuous casting and therefore the belt has less thermal fatigue and the longer life. The frequency of exchanging the belt is thereby decreased and the continuous operation is made possible. The productivity of the continuous production line is thus improved. |
