PURPOSE:To obtain an active drug component continuously form a medicinal plant containing said active drug component in grown state. CONSTITUTION:The trunk or branch of a medicinal plant (e.g. Phellodendron amurense containing berberine, cinchona containing quinine, magnolia obovata containing magnocurarine, mulverry containing morusin, etc.) is covered 1, and one or more kinds of solutions 3 selected from water, organic solvent, surfactant and oxygen liquid is filled and circulated in the covering 1 to effect the contact of said solution with the bark of said medicinal plant. The active drug component in the bark extracted to the liquid in the covering 1 is adsorbed to an adsorbent 6, which is taken out of the case for the recovery of the active component. EFFECT:In the conventional process, a medicinal plant is grown for a long period for single extraction operation, and the extracted plant is discarded. The waste of resource in the conventional process can be prevented in the present process which enables the continuous extraction and recovery of the active component and facilitates the reutilization of the solvent.
