PURPOSE:To keep the total quantity of nitrogen oxide at the sufficiently low state by installing a correcting means for correcting a prescribed control means for an engine according to the total nitrogen-oxide discharge quantity per traveling distance. CONSTITUTION:A total nitrogen-oxide discharge quantity calculating means for calculating the total nitrogen-oxide discharge quantity per traveling distance from the intake air quantity, nitrogen-oxide concentration and the traveling distance for car is installed. A correcting means for correcting a prescribed control means for an engine according to the total nitrogen-oxide discharge quantity per traveling distance which is calculated form the above-described calculating means is installed. Thus, the total quantity of the nitrogen oxide discharged from the engine can be kept at the sufficiently low state.
