It comprises the main part which is made of glued layers of wood which have their fibre direction oriented in the same direction. In addn. there is one or more barrier layers and there are wood layers of which the fibre direction deviates from that of the main part. The barrier layers, which are films fibres or fabrics of metals, glass, carbon, polymers, minerals etc. are designed to prevent crack formation and moisture migration. |
