PURPOSE:To execute a butt welding improved the quality of welding, by irradiating a laser beam to a wire supplied to an irradiated side of the laser beam of a butt part of a material to be welded, and melting it. CONSTITUTION:A wire 2 is placed in one side of the thickness direction along a butt line of a pair of materials to be welded 1, 1 which is placed so that the end parts are butted to each other. In this state, a laser beam 3 is irradiated to this wire 2, the wire 2 is melted at a prescribed temperature, poured into a gap of the butt part, and also the materials to be welded 1, 1 which is melted by a melting heat, cooled as time elapses, and the materials to be welded 1, 1 are joined. In this case, it is also allowed that extended material is placed along the butt line of the materials to be welded 1, 1, before irradiating the laser beam 3. |
