<p>PURPOSE:To thin out the processing of picture elements at a high speed by a simple circuit by replacing a specific bit of a writing address generated when a video signal is written in a picture memory by a fixed value and the specific bit of a reading address generated when the video signal is read from the picture memory by the fixed value. CONSTITUTION:A writing address converting means 10 for replacing a specific bit of a writing address generated when a video signal is written in a picture memory 2 by a fixed value and a reading address converting means 11 for replacing the specific bit of a reading address generated when the video signal is read from the picture memory 2 by the fixed value are provided. For instance, when horizontal direction picture elements and vertical direction picture elements are respectively thinned out to 1/2, by a select signal 500, a change-over switch selects the fixed values SELX, SELY respectively and is changed over so as to output them to the picture memory 2. Of the horizontal and vertical direction address signals outputted by a writing address generator 5, least significant bits XAO, YAO are constantly converted into fixed values and outputted to the picture memory 2.</p> |
