A rod (3), which consists of the same material as the discharge vessel and is coated in the form of a sheath with an electrically conductive layer (2), is used as the electrical conductor (1) of the vacuum-tight electrical power supply lead for the electrodes (13) of gas-discharge lamps having a discharge vessel consisting of quartz-glass or high-silicate glass.
