PURPOSE:To easily supplement without liquid short circuit even in a stacked type molten carbonate fuel cell by installing an electrolyte supplementing hole in a wet sealing part of a gas separating plate and an electrolyte plate. CONSTITUTION:An electrolyte matrix 3' is in contact with gas separating plates 1 and 2 through a wet sealing part 7. An electrolyte supplementary hole 8 is installed in the gas separating plate 1 in the wet sealing part 7. An electrolyte supplementary pipe 9 is connected to the electrolyte supplementary hole 8. The 62:38mol% eutectic salt of LiCO3:K2CO3 is supplied from the electrolyte supplementary pipe 9 to the electrolyte supplementary hole 8 as a supplementary electrolyte. When electrolyte is in short supply caused by lengthy operation of the fuel cell, if can easily be supplied. |
