@ Novel 7-hydroxyguanine compounds of the formula:
<Chemistry id="chema01" num="0001"><Image id="ia01" he="23" wi="67" file="IMGA0001.TIF" imgContent="chem" imgFormat="TIFF" inline="no" /></Chemistry>wherein R is hydrogen atom, tetrahydropyranyl group or tetrahydrofuryl group, and R<Sub>2</Sub> is hydrogen atom, tetrahydropyranyl group ortetrahydrofuryl group, provided that when R, is hydrogen atom, R<Sub>2</Sub> is tetrahydropyranyl group or tetrahydrofuryl group, and a salt thereof, which have excellent anti-tumor activity, process for preparing the compounds, and anti-tumor agent containing said compound as an active ingredient. The 7-hydroxy compounds can be used forthe preparation of a medicament for the prophylaxis and treatment of tumors.
