The invention relates to thermoplastic moulding compositions comprising a) from 5 to 85 parts by weight of a melted or remelted premoulding composition comprising - from 60 to 98 parts by weight of PPE and - from 40 to 2 parts by weight of polyoctenylenes, - from 0.1 to 5 parts by weight of maleic anhydride and - from 0.1 to 5 parts by weight of a further acid component having a melting point of below 100 DEG C, b) from 95 to 15 parts by weight of an at least predominantly aliphatic polyamide and c) optionally polystyrene resins, a flameproofing agent and further additives, and a process for the preparation thereof.p
