The device comprises: a rigid system 1 consisting of a plate 5, linked in a hermetic fashion to an opening 2 made in a support panel 3, capable of hermetically closing an opening frame 4 of the wall separating the said contaminated environment from the external environment, the said plate 5 having a door whose edge is applied towards the contaminated environment, a first ring 10 for hermetically sealing the flange provided on the upper orifice of the diving suit and, towards the external environment, a second ring 12 onto which is hermetically sealed the flange of a helmet cover forming part of the accessories of the protection unit of the type mentioned above, capable of hermetically containing the said helmet. <IMAGE>
