PURPOSE:To adjust the width of a drum body according to that of a molding green tire, by a method wherein a supportable plate is provided between drum units by following expansion or contraction of the drum body and corresponding to a joint of a constituent material of a tire of the molding green tire. CONSTITUTION:A drum body 50 is composed of a pair of a right and left drum units which are expandable, contractable and rotatable to a fitting shaft 2. A base block 62 is made movable in a longitudinal direction of the shaft 2 through a sliding key 82. a plurality of pieces of air cylinders 63 is fitted to the upper part of a block 62 at a divided position corresponding to a place to which splice press bonding of a green tire is to be performed. In addition to the above, an end 63a of an output shaft is fitted with a base block 64 and the base block 64 is provided with a recessed groove 65 in the center of the same. A plate 66 for supporting the tire is placed into the groove 65. A guide rod 67 exists in the center of the plate 66 which is held slidably by a slide guide 69. With those members the plate 66 is moved according to a movement of the block 64.
