PURPOSE:To enhance the yield of steel and the rate of recovery of gas by directly charging molten pig iron into a converter and measuring the weight of the molten pig iron in the converter so as to reduce a drop in the temp. of the molten pig iron. CONSTITUTION:The weight of molten pig iron charged into a converter is measured by a measuring means such as a load cell set in the converter. The measured value is inputted in a computer controlling blowing in the converter as one of control data. Since molten pig iron in a molten pig iron conveying pan is directly charged into the converter, the molten pig iron is required to be poured only a time and a drop in the temp. of the molten pig iron can be reduced. As a result, the overall yield of tapped steel and the rate of recovery of gas in the converter are enhanced. A charging pan is made unnecessary and the consumption of refractories can be avoided. |
