Central heating boiler with a burner and a heat exchanger and a cladding covering both, a foam insulation being provided within the cladding. The boiler expansion vessel is embedded in the foam layer. This results in a reduction in the stand-by losses of the boiler, since heat cannot be radiated via the expansion vessel and, in addition, the boiler is also insulated in the region of the expansion vessel.
