PURPOSE:To enable efficient burr removal in a short time with a chamfering device, which removes burrs at the edge of metal parts etc., by furnishing a retaining plate to retain a work rotatably and a restraining plate equipped at its undersurface with resilient substance. CONSTITUTION:A grinding member 1 provided with a grinding face 3 at the oversurface is rotated by a drive shaft 5. The oversurface is equipped with a retaining plate 7 having in the periphery a number of retaining holes 15 to retain a work 17, and is fixed to a fixation part 11 by a mounting piece 9. This retaining plate 7 is equipped at its oversurface with a restraining plate 19, to whose undersurface resilient substance 20 such as rubber is affixed, wherein a minor gap is reserved therebetween which dimensions slightly less than the diagonal d of the work 17. If it is rotated while the grinding liquid is supplied with a pump 29, it is supplied to the work 1 from a plurality of through holes 23, and burrs are ground off by contact frictions due to relative rotation. Pressure is given by said resilient substance when the edge 17a is in contact with the grinding surface 3, while no pressure is generated when the flat portion 17b is in contact resulting in little grinding, which assures efficient operation of burr removal. |
