<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent image which has constant density and no fog by varying the driving voltage of a power source on the basis of operation characteristics of a liquid crystal shutter array and controlling the quantity of exposure to a photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:A modulator 13 which modulates an image signal (f) into the on-off signal voltage of the liquid crystal shutter array (LCS array) 12 and the power source 14 which operates the LCS array 12 are connected to a controller 15 which controls them. The controller 15 varies the output voltage of the power source 14 on the basis of the operation characteristics of the LCS array 12 to make the contrast constant. Consequently, the quantity of exposure to the photosensitive drum becomes constant regardless of difference in operation characteristics between manufacture lots of the LCS array 12. Consequently, the excellent image which has constant image density and no fog is obtained.</p> |
