PURPOSE:To alleviate or eliminate vibrations of a sheet and effectively reduce noise, by providing sheet-pressing rollers moved together with a recording head in the vicinity of the recording head. CONSTITUTION:Sheet-pressing rollers 8, 8 pressed against a platen 2 are provided in the vicinity of a recording head 1, for example, on both sides of the recording head. The rollers 8, 8 are supported on arms 9, 9 extended from both sides of the recording head 1 so that each thereof can be rotated about a vertical axis, and are located at substantially the same height as that of the head 1. The rollers 8, 8 may be formed of an appropriate material such as a plastic. It is preferable that the rollers 8, 8 are formed from a vibration- damping material such as a rubber-like elastic material, from the viewpoint of reduction of the vibrations of a sheet 6. |
