For a speed limiter consisting of an electronic regulating circuit and an electromechanical actuating unit (2) which acts via a coupling device on the fuel-metering device of a motor vehicle, it is proposed to reduce the problems of fitting the electronic regulating circuit of the speed limiter, which regulating circuit is to be arranged in the driver's cab of the relevant vehicle, by integrating the electronic regulating circuit (10, 24, 30, 40) in the tachograph (1) to be fitted into the vehicle and, while including the tachograph, by thus creating a speed-limiting system which is easy to assemble. <IMAGE>
