PURPOSE:To improve machining accuracy by providing a column in which a spindle head is vertically movably provided and a column guide member having a reference guide part corresponding to a guide part which is provided to move said column longitudinally to a workpiece side. CONSTITUTION:A spindle head 14 which has tools from the front of a column 7 toward a table, is provided movably in the direction of Y-axis, in the center zone of said column 7. Guide parts 4 which removably support the column 7, are fixed to both side parts of the column 7 in a position close to the height of the spindle 8 having tools from the front of the column toward the table, in parallel in a Z-axis direction. And, reference guide parts 5 of saddles 3 which support the column 7 via the guide parts 4 are horizontally provided in positions closer to the spindle 8. Accordingly, the distance H in the direction of height between the reference guide parts 5 and tools on the spindle 8 can be the minimum, and a bending moment generated in between the tools on the spindle 8 and a workpiece on the table can be made smaller, increasing rigidity in the reference guide parts 5. |
