PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal cell having an accurate and uniform interval between bases by irradiating ultraviolet rays from the 1st holed press plate side while holding the 1st and 2nd electrode bases between the 1st holed press plate and the 2nd press plate to harden a bonding agent partially, and after removing the 1st holed press plate, irradiating ultraviolet rays to the unhardened part to harden it. CONSTITUTION:While being pressed by the 1st holed press plate 31 and the 2nd press plate 25, the 1st and 2nd electrode bases 11, 13 opposed to each other are irradiated by ultraviolet rays passed through the hole 33a formed on the 1st holed press plate 33a. The ultraviolet rays for irradiating a sealing agent 15 out of ultraviolet rays passed through the hole harden the sealing agent in the area. Even if pressing state is released while straightening the chamber and waviness of both the bases by pressing, the ultraviolet ray hardening type bonding agent can be partially hardened so that the straightening state can be sufficiently maintained and then the unhardened part of the bonding agent can be hardened by removing the 1st holed press plate and irradiating ultraviolet rays.
