PURPOSE:To enhance blackness by using an azo type organic pigment or dye having a specified azomethine group as a coloring matter. CONSTITUTION:The coloring matter is the organic pigment or dye having the azo group and the azomethine group as chromophores in the molecular structure, and it has various kinds of superior fastness, such as resistances to light, heat, and chemicals,, an extremely high coloring power, and it exhibits superior blackness. A superior developing agent is obtained by using this pigment or dye. Said coloring matter has a residue having the azo methine group represented by formula I in which Ar is an aromatic or heterocyclic residue; X is H or halogen; and m is an integer of 1 or more dependent on the substituted position of Ar. |
