High voltage current transformers of the type having a U-shaped primary conductor (21) and a multi-turn secondary conductor (27) associated with the primary so that current can be induced in the secondary consequent on current flowing through the primary. The secondary conductor (27) is normally situated near the bridging portion (25) of the arms of the primary conductor (21) and the primary and secondary are electrically insulated from each other by insulation (23) provided therebetween. The current transformers of the invention are characterized by having the termination (31) of each arm of the primary conductor (21) supported by a respective hollow insulator (33) through which the primary passes. |
