LIQUID SEAL FOR MACHINE PARTS MOVING ROTATIONALLY AND AXIALLY IN RELATION TO ONE ANOTHER

The liquid seal avoids the accumulation of torsional and shear stresses in a given seal element, by means of an intermediate sleeve (b) which, together with one of the associated shaft or housing-shaped machine parts (1, 2), forms an axial seal gap (7) and, with the other, forms a radial seal gap (8). Since the intermediate sleeve (6) is held tight by a rotary (11) and an axial (13) securing means, the sealing elements (9) for the radial seal gap (7) are subjected only to axial relative movements, and the sealing elements (12) for the axial seal gap (8) are subjected only to rotational movements. In this way simple, easily procurable and quickly-assembled elastomer parts can be used.
