The process enables road surfacings to be able to be obtained from aqueous emulsions of bitumen. The process consists in simultaneous spreading of the emulsion and a means for breaking down the emulsion under such conditions that the emulsion is broken down within the dispersion mass. To this end, the jet of demulsifier is delivered to the curtain of emulsion falling from the spreader, to its lower part. The obtained surfacings display rapid cohesion and are not brittle. <IMAGE>
