<p>PURPOSE:To detain the influence of an error within a picture element block to which a picture element where the error occurs is belonged by dividing a data into picture element block groups consisting of plural picture elements, transmitting a pair of data relating to the maximum value and the minimum value, and quantizing the data based on the said pair of picture data. CONSTITUTION:A digital picture data of 2<n> gradation is supplied to a picture element block segmenting part 2, and the picture data is inputted to a maximum value detection part 3, a minimum value detection part 4, and a timing adjusting part 5. All of the picture data D1,1-Dm,1, and their maximum value Dmax and minimum value Dmin are inputted to a split value conversion part 6, and split codes DELTA1,1-DELTA1,m of k-number of bits in which each picture element is compared with a quantized level 2-divided between the Dmax and the Dmin can be obtained. In such a picture transmission system, the propagation of the error and that of a quantization error are generated only in a limited range.</p> |
