PURPOSE:To make it possible to save labor for restoring the space error of a printer by ON/OFF of a power source, by adding the initial command only of the head of the printer when the space error of the printer is generated. CONSTITUTION:When a space error signal is generated from a mechanism control part 2a, FCP1b transmits the generation of a space error to APR1a and, when APR1a issues a discharge command, FCP1b judges that the discharge command after the generation of the space error is received through a processing means B to output the initial command only of the head of a printer. The mechanism control part 2a controls a mechanism part 2b to return only the head of the printer to an initial position. FCP1b confirms that the head of the printer is returned to the initial position and subsequently issues the discharge command to the mechanism control part 2a automatically and the mechanism control part 2a controls the mechanism part 2b to discharge a banknote. The completion of the discharge of the banknote is detected by a sensor and this detection signal is received by the mechanism control part 2a. The mechanism control part 2a informs a discharge completion signal to FCP1b.
